History of The American Legion

The American Legion, chartered in 1919, is a patriotic veterans organization dedicated to serving those who served our nation. From its beginnings with World War I veterans, it has grown to over 1.6 million members in more12,000 posts worldwide. Committed to supporting veterans and promoting responsible citizenship, the Legion has championed initiatives like the GI Bill and relief for veterans affected by toxic contamination. Join us in honoring the legacy of service that defines the American Legion.

General Membership meetings are held on 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at Rogers-Hinson Post 235 Fort Walton Beach.
